Andorra has set an initial quota of 5,100 seasonal work permits for the 2026–2027 winter. The permits are intended to meet staffing needs in key tourism sectors, including hotels and restaurants, ski resorts, shops, travel agencies and cleaning companies.

Government spokesperson Guillem Casal said the quota could be increased by up to 30%, bringing the total to 6,630 permits if labour market needs require it. The quota was negotiated through the Economic and Social Council, which approved it.

Last winter ended with 5,069 workers covered by the quota. The initial figure approved for this season is therefore similar, while leaving room to bring in more staff if needed.

How the 5,100 permits are allocated

The largest share, 3,363 permits, is allocated to the hotel and restaurant sector. Ski resorts will have 1,064 permits to recruit staff for the slopes, lifts and other services, including piste patrols.

The remaining permits are divided among 480 for retail, including sports equipment shops; 82 for travel agencies; and 111 for the cleaning sector. Together, these figures make up the Government’s initial quota of 5,100 permits.

Permit expiry dates vary by sector

The length of the work permits will depend on the sector. Permits for hotels, restaurants, cleaning and laundry services will be valid until 15 June 2027, reflecting the duration of tourism activity and the ski season.

Permits in the other sectors will be valid until 2 May 2027. The Government set these dates based on experience from the previous winter season.
