Government plans 30 affordable rental homes in L’Aldosa, La Massana
A tender has been launched to design an apartment building on Carrer Pradet, on land provided by the parish council
The Government has launched a tender to select the architect who will design a building with 30 affordable rental homes in L’Aldosa, La Massana. The Council of Ministers approved the national tender on Wednesday, following a proposal by the Minister of Territory and Urban Planning, Raul Ferré.
The selected architect will be responsible for designing the project and supervising construction. Applicants will have twenty weeks to submit their proposals, according to the conditions announced by the Government.
The development will occupy a 2,394-square-metre plot on Carrer Pradet, provided by La Massana Parish Council. The Head of Government, Xavier Espot, and the Mayor of La Massana, Eva Sansa, formalised the land agreement on 22 July 2025.
The project remains at the planning stage. The announcement does not specify a construction budget or dates for work to begin and end.
A public connection to the upper part of L’Aldosa
Alongside the homes, the project includes a public lift and footbridge within the same plot. This connection is intended to make it easier to travel between the Carrer Pradet area and the upper part of L’Aldosa.
The architectural proposal must also ensure the new building fits into its surroundings.
The 30 planned homes will add to the 70 affordable homes at the Ribasol complex in Arinsal, bringing the combined total for the two developments in the parish to 100.
Government targets around 650 homes
According to Government forecasts, Andorra’s affordable housing stock will approach 500 homes once the developments currently under construction are completed.
The Government aims to reach around 650 rent-regulated homes within one to two years. In L’Aldosa, the approved tender marks a further step towards the proposed development, with its design and construction arrangements still to be finalised.
