Andorra’s Foreign Ministry confirms eight Andorran citizens in Colombia are safe after earthquake

All eight Andorran citizens in Colombia have been confirmed safe following Monday’s 7.4-magnitude earthquake, according to information reported by RTVA.

Seven of the Andorrans were in Colombia on holiday, while the eighth is an Andorran national who has been living in the country for several years with his family.

Of the seven citizens who were temporarily in Colombia, two have already begun their journey back to Europe, while the remaining five continue to stay in the country.

No injuries reported among Andorran citizens

The information available so far confirms that none of the eight Andorrans has been injured in the earthquake, despite the magnitude of the seismic event and the extensive damage reported in several parts of Colombia.

The 7.4-magnitude earthquake has so far left 132 people dead and nearly 600 injured, while emergency teams continue working in the affected areas. Authorities are also increasingly concerned about people who may remain trapped inside collapsed buildings.

The emergency has caused particular concern among relatives of Andorran citizens in Colombia, especially because of communication difficulties caused by the disaster.

Andorra monitoring the situation in Colombia

The presence of Andorran citizens in Colombia has brought the emergency closer to Andorra, where families and relatives are following developments closely.

In addition to the seven tourists, one Andorran national has been living in Colombia for years with his family.

So far, however, no personal impact has been reported among the eight Andorran citizens, who remain safe.

The earthquake has also generated concern among Colombia’s community in Andorra, with residents maintaining contact with relatives and friends in the areas affected by the disaster.
