Espot thanks firefighters for their rapid response to the La Querola fire
Andorra’s head of government praises the work of Andorran firefighters and the support provided by Catalan crews
Andorra’s head of government, Xavier Espot, has publicly praised Andorra’s fire service for its response to the fire that broke out overnight at the La Querola residential development in Ordino. In a social media post, he also thanked Catalan firefighters, specialist services and associations involved in the emergency response.

“I want to express my appreciation to Andorra’s firefighters and thank Catalonia’s firefighters, along with all our specialist services and associations, for their rapid response to the tragic fire at La Querola,” he said.
Government says the fire is under control
Espot shared his message alongside a government update on the operation. According to that statement, 15 fire crews and 35 personnel from Andorra’s fire service are continuing to work to extinguish the blaze.
The government said the fire is under control and no injuries have been reported, although firefighting operations are continuing at the development.
Espot’s message follows a night of work by emergency teams to contain the flames within the residential complex and prevent them from spreading to the nearby woodland.
