Four luxury vehicles stolen in Andorra as GPS tracking leads to suspected thieves in Badalona
During the escape, one of the stolen vehicles was reportedly involved in an incident with a Mossos d’Esquadra officer at a police checkpoint
Four high-end vehicles were reportedly stolen overnight from the premises of Mecalux Andorra, triggering a subsequent police operation to locate those suspected of carrying out the theft.
According to preliminary information obtained by La Veu Lliure, those responsible for the theft allegedly fled the scene in the four stolen vehicles.
During the escape, there was also reportedly an incident involving a Mossos d’Esquadra officer at a police checkpoint. One of the stolen vehicles is believed to have been involved in the incident as the suspects attempted to continue their escape.
GPS tracking on one of the stolen vehicles reportedly led police to the suspects
The investigation reportedly took a significant turn thanks to a GPS tracking system installed in one of the stolen vehicles. The device would have allowed police to track the car’s movements and helped locate some of those allegedly involved.
According to the same information, some of the suspected perpetrators were subsequently located and arrested in Badalona after the vehicle was tracked.
Police are currently waiting for the owners of the affected vehicles, or the dealership where appropriate, to file the corresponding complaints so that the investigation can proceed.
For now, official information from the police authorities will be needed to determine how many people were arrested, the condition of the officer involved in the incident and whether all four luxury vehicles have been recovered.
It also remains unclear how the suspects allegedly gained access to the Mecalux premises and the exact circumstances surrounding the theft of the four vehicles in Andorra.
The investigation will seek to reconstruct the suspects’ movements from the initial theft in Andorra to their reported location in Badalona, as well as determine whether any additional individuals were involved.
