Median Salary Rises 5.2% in Andorra to €2,235
Average salary rises 7.7% to €2,760 as Andorra reaches 44,729 employees, 1,112 more than a year earlier
The average salary in Andorra increased by 7.7% year-on-year in May 2026, reaching €2,760.46, according to semi-final data published by the Government's Statistics Department.
The median salary also increased, although at a slower rate, rising 5.2% to €2,235.73. This means that half of employees reported a salary below this amount, while the other half earned more.
Andorra surpasses 44,700 employees
The number of employees also increased during the same period. In May, Andorra had 44,729 salaried workers, 1,112 more than a year earlier, representing a 2.5% increase.
The total wage bill declared to the CASS reached €123.47 million, 10.4% more than in May 2025.
All economic sectors recorded increases in their total wage bill. The largest increases were registered in retail trade and the financial system, both rising by 15.4%.
Retail records the strongest salary growth
Looking at average salary growth by sector, retail trade recorded the largest year-on-year increase, at 14.5%.
It was followed by the sale and repair of motor vehicles, where average salaries rose by 12.7%.
The financial sector nevertheless remains the highest-paying sector in Andorra, with an average monthly salary of €4,972.10.
It is followed by electricity, gas and water production and distribution, at €3,607.83, and public administration and Social Security, at €3,381.25.
Hospitality remains among the lowest-paid sectors
At the other end of the scale, among sectors with significant employment, the lowest average salaries correspond to households employing domestic staff, at €1,936.45, agriculture at €2,000.11, and hospitality at €2,151.69.
The most common salary range falls between €1,500 and €1,600, accounting for 5.4% of all salaried workers.
Construction and agriculture drive employment growth
In terms of employment, the strongest year-on-year increases in May were recorded in agriculture, livestock, hunting and forestry, up 8.2%, and construction, up 5.6%.
In absolute terms, the real estate and business services sector added 332 employees compared with the previous year, reaching 8,075 workers.
Average salary rises 5.4% through May
Cumulative data for the first five months of 2026 put the average salary at €2,777.01, 5.4% higher than during the same period a year earlier.
The average monthly number of employees stood at 47,965, an increase of 2.1%, while the average monthly wage bill reached €133.20 million, up 7.6%.
Preliminary June data point to another positive development. The number of employees is provisionally estimated at 45,707, 3.4% more than in June 2025.
The wage bill reached €126.89 million, an 8.4% increase, while the preliminary average salary stood at €2,776.18, up 4.8% year-on-year.
The preliminary median salary for June was €2,235.29, representing a 4.5% annual increase.
