More than 800 teachers open the school year with a call to strengthen ties with families
Ladislau Baró advocates trust, dialogue and shared goals to address new educational and social challenges
The Government officially opened the 2026–2027 school year on Monday with an event attended by more than 800 teachers from the Andorran School system at the Andorra la Vella Congress Centre. The event focused on the importance of strengthening cooperation between families and schools.
The Minister of Institutional Relations, Education and Universities, Ladislau Baró, warned that education is facing new challenges arising from social and technological changes.
Against this backdrop, he identified the partnership between families and schools as one of the keys to ensuring educational success, emotional well-being and the comprehensive development of children and young people.
Baró advocated a relationship based on trust, dialogue and shared goals, with the coordinated involvement of the different stakeholders who contribute to students’ education.
Ten keys to improving the relationship between families and schools
The event included a lecture by educator, teacher and writer Eva Bach, entitled Family and School: How to Build Partnerships that Educate and Support Growth. During her speech, Bach reflected on the shared responsibility of supporting children and emphasised the importance of relationships built on trust.
The educator presented ten keys to strengthening understanding between families and schools, focusing on mutual respect, empathy, assertiveness, dialogue and effective communication. She also offered practical tools to help the different educational stakeholders build a closer relationship.
