Andorra Endavant proposes redirecting €7.5 million from Andorra Telecom to police, families and older people
Montaner calls for better conditions for officers, support for families with seriously ill children and supported housing
Andorra Endavant president Carine Montaner has proposed redirecting €7.5 million from Andorra Telecom in the next budget to support the police, families with seriously ill children and older people. She made the proposal during the General Council’s debate on the 2027 budget bill.
Montaner said some of the money should be used to improve conditions for the Police Corps and help ensure the country’s security, which she described as one of Andorra’s attractions.
Support for families and older people
The proposal also includes support for families with seriously ill children, so they do not have to choose between caring for their children and maintaining their income. Montaner also called for a complex of supported housing and other services for older people.
Andorra Endavant had submitted a motion to reject the budget in full, but Montaner focused her speech on these proposals rather than criticising the budget as a whole. The plan to redirect €7.5 million is one of the party’s demands and is not an approved budget allocation.
