Andorra to have regular air connection with Paris from 2027
The Government approves a new tender requiring airlines to maintain flights to Madrid and Palma while adding the French capital as a new destination
The Government of Andorra approved on Wednesday the terms of a new tender to consolidate and expand scheduled air routes from Andorra-La Seu d’Urgell Airport. The main new development will be the introduction of a regular connection with Paris, joining the existing flights to Madrid and Palma de Mallorca.
The new tender will replace the model in place since 2024 and will take effect from January 1, 2027. The initial contract will run for four years, with the possibility of a two-year extension.

As a minimum requirement, airlines bidding for the contract must maintain connections with Madrid and Palma and introduce a route to Paris. The aim is to consolidate existing services while strengthening the airport’s international connectivity.
Up to €5 million per year
The new tender will have a maximum annual budget of €5 million, although the Government has specified that this amount is not guaranteed to the successful bidder.
Payments will be calculated quarterly based on actual passenger occupancy and revenue generated by the routes. Public funding will therefore depend on the performance and effective demand of the services operated.
The tender also establishes a minimum of 1,400 flight hours per year. Airlines will, however, be able to submit proposals exceeding these requirements and offer additional frequencies, services or destinations to further expand the airport’s connectivity.

The Government is also leaving the door open for interested airlines to include additional routes beyond Madrid, Palma and Paris in their bids.
The publication of the official notice and tender specifications will formally open the bidding process, allowing airlines to review the conditions and submit their proposals.
The Government considers Andorra-La Seu d’Urgell Airport a strategic infrastructure for the Principality’s international connectivity and hopes the new contract will help consolidate passenger growth, secure existing routes and progressively expand the number of regular destinations.
