The exploration-focused account Two Mad Explorers has reacted to a viral video published by La Veu Lliure, showing several young men of North African origin carrying machetes while in a mountainous area of Andorra.

The footage has sparked widespread reactions on social media and opened a debate around security, immigration and coexistence.

In the video, the author says:

“There isn't a single corner of Europe that is safe from the enrichment of immigration. Can anyone guess where this is? This is Andorra. There are young North Africans in the mountains of Andorra with machetes. Have we gone too far? Have we gone too far with inclusion? Have we gone too far with immigration?”

The publication then compares the situation with several European cities:

“This isn't Luton. It isn't Birmingham. It isn't Paris. Unfortunately, we have already become accustomed to these cities being overwhelmed and destroyed by crime. No, this is in the mountains, somewhere on a mountain trail in Andorra.”

The video has circulated widely across social media, particularly because of the surprise generated by the fact that the images were recorded in Andorra, a country generally associated with its mountain environment and high levels of safety.

The debate generated by the publication has focused on whether the images should be interpreted as an isolated incident or as part of a broader discussion about immigration, public safety and social integration in Andorra.
