Jordi Cano brace fires FC Andorra to 3–1 victory at Granada
Two goals from Cano and a VAR-confirmed strike from Marc Domènech secure three points for Andorra on Matchday 7 of LaLiga Hypermotion
FC Andorra beat Granada 3–1 away on Saturday, with Jordi Cano taking centre stage in the Matchday 7 encounter in LaLiga Hypermotion. The forward scored twice, while Marc Domènech added Andorra’s other goal as the visitors made their chances count.
Cano opened the scoring after an assist from Nacho Quintana, finishing with a left-footed shot from the left side of the penalty area to put Andorra ahead.
The second goal came from a corner. Marc Domènech sent a low shot inside the left post, with the goal confirmed following a VAR review. Cano extended the lead with a close-range finish from the right side of the box.
Granada push for a response
The hosts tried to reduce the deficit with several chances, particularly in the second half. Jorge Pascual, Pedro Alemañ and Chinaza Onouha all had headed opportunities, while Sergio Rodelas and José Arnáiz also threatened with shots.
Manu Lama scored Granada’s goal with a header from Gerard Gumbau’s corner. His effort, however, was not enough to change the outcome.
Andorra continued to create chances of their own. Hugo Solozábal forced the home goalkeeper into a save with a left-footed shot after a pass from Cano, while Marc Domènech tried his luck again from outside the penalty area.
VAR reviews and stoppages punctuate the match
As well as confirming Domènech’s goal, VAR reviewed a potential red card for Pau López. The final decision was a yellow card for dangerous play.
The match also featured hydration breaks and stoppages for treatment to Diego Alende and Alejandro Marqués. The Granada player was forced off through injury and replaced by Onouha.
In the second half, FC Andorra brought on Álex Calvo, Lautaro de León and Sergio Molina for Andoni López, Nacho Quintana and Hugo Solozábal. After six minutes of added time, the visitors sealed an away victory powered by Jordi Cano’s brace.
