María del Carmen Abascal Martín, known as Maricarmen, held management positions at two companies linked to real estate investment.

According to OKDIARIO, citing documents from Madrid’s Companies Register, she was sole director of FIEBA S.A. for several years and was appointed to the board of JINUR S.A. in July 1994.

JINUR’s corporate purpose included, among other activities, investing in real estate and renting out properties, as well as developing and subdividing land.

According to the documents cited by the newspaper, Maricarmen served as vice-secretary of JINUR’s board until July 1995, when she left the position.

From FIEBA to JINUR

The report says Maricarmen and three other FIEBA board members joined JINUR’s board in July 1994. A month later, they formally left FIEBA. The two companies shared a registered address at 36 Pradillo Street in Madrid.

JINUR ceased to exist as a company in 2000 after merging with BASCADI S.A., which was also linked to real estate investment, according to OKDIARIO.

Her employment history had not been detailed publicly

During the eviction proceedings concerning the home where she lived in Madrid, neither Maricarmen nor people around her had publicly provided details of her professional history.

In 2024, El País reported, based on an interview with her, that she had worked as secretary to the board of a pharmaceutical company. OKDIARIO says that, after reviewing companies where it found she had held management positions, it identified no pharmaceutical activity among them.

The information establishes that Maricarmen held company positions at businesses linked to real estate investment. Those positions alone do not establish that she personally owned the companies’ properties or managed the rentals.
