Wizz Air warns of delays on several flights amid fuel supply problems in Italy
Passengers affected by flight changes will be notified by SMS or email
Wizz Air has warned that some flights to or from Italian airports could face delays, disruption or schedule changes because of protests and road blockades in the country.
The airline says the demonstrations are affecting fuel supplies at several airports.
Wizz Air says it is coordinating with airports and fuel suppliers to minimise the impact on passengers. If a flight changes, the airline says it will notify affected passengers by SMS or email, using the contact details provided when they booked.
Wizz Air advises passengers to check their flights
The airline recommends checking flight status on its website or app before travelling to the airport, and checking messages and email for updates.

Passengers who booked through a travel agency or another intermediary are also advised to contact them for information and assistance.
Wider pressure on the aviation fuel market
The disruption reported by Wizz Air comes amid pressure on the European aviation fuel market.
The conflict with Iran and disruption to traffic through the Strait of Hormuz have pushed up kerosene prices and raised concerns about supply.
Higher fuel costs could also affect ticket prices. Ryanair chief executive Michael O’Leary has warned that air fares in Europe could rise by 10% to 20% over the next 12 months.
For Wizz Air flights to and from Italy, however, the airline attributes the immediate disruption to protests and road blockades affecting fuel supply operations at several airports.
