Paris from €79: what to expect from Chalair’s new flights from Andorra–La Seu Airport
The airline plans two weekly flights to the French capital
Flights to Paris from Andorra–La Seu Airport will start at €79 with Chalair, the French airline awarded the contract to operate the air services.
Its proposal also includes fares from €55 to Palma and €67 to Madrid, alongside the gradual addition of Nantes, Nice and Lyon to the destination network, according to La Veu Lliure.
The contract will also bring an operational change: Chalair will permanently base an aircraft at La Seu and has committed to keeping a backup aircraft within two hours’ flying time. The government expects these arrangements to help reduce disruption caused by cancellations.
How frequent will the flights be, and what will tickets cost?
Chalair’s proposal includes three weekly services to Madrid, two to three to Palma and two weekly flights to Paris. The announced prices are starting fares, meaning that not all tickets will be available at those prices.
The starting fares are:
Palma: from €55.
Madrid: from €67.
Paris: from €79.
The information released does not specify the fare conditions, included services or exact launch dates for the new connections. Prices for flights to Nantes, Nice and Lyon have not yet been announced either.
David Forné, Secretary of State for Energy Transition, Transport and Mobility, also said that Andorran businesses would be able to purchase packages of tickets in advance.
Will Paris flights use Orly or Charles de Gaulle?
The initial plan is for the Paris service to operate to Orly, an option the government favours for its proximity to the city.
However, Charles de Gaulle remains an alternative. Forné also sees advantages in that option because of the airport’s international connections. The final choice of Paris airport could therefore still change.
Seasonal connections to Nantes, Nice and Lyon
The announcement of six destinations does not mean that all routes will operate year-round. The proposal includes different services according to the season.
Nantes is initially planned as a winter destination, while Nice and Lyon will be served during the summer season.
The additional connections to these French cities are expected to be introduced gradually from summer 2027. However, the timetable for each route, operating days and frequencies have yet to be confirmed.
An aircraft based at La Seu to help reduce cancellations
One of the main changes will be the permanent basing of an aircraft at Andorra–La Seu Airport, a move Forné described as “fundamental” to this new phase of operations.
Chalair has also committed to having a backup aircraft within two hours’ flying time. According to the secretary of state, these arrangements should help reduce disruption from cancellations and improve service continuity.
The aim is to make the connections more reliable, although aircraft availability does not guarantee that all cancellations will be eliminated.
Refuelling and de-icing services expected this winter
Meanwhile, the Andorran and Catalan governments are working on infrastructure improvements to support flight operations and the introduction of the new routes.
Forné said that refuelling facilities and the de-icing system would be operational this winter. He added that work relating to air traffic control was undergoing a tendering process.
Chalair was selected over Andorra Connected in a tender that marks a new phase for the airport, with more destinations and an operating model the government expects to deliver a more reliable service.
