Albares to meet Andorra’s Episcopal Co-Prince
The meeting with Josep-Lluís Serrano i Pentinat is part of the Spanish foreign minister’s agenda
Spain’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, will meet the Episcopal Co-Prince and Bishop of Urgell, Josep-Lluís Serrano i Pentinat, in La Seu d’Urgell on Monday, 14 September.
The meeting forms part of the agenda announced by the ministry for the Spanish foreign minister’s visit to Andorra.
The statement does not specify which issues Albares and the Episcopal Co-Prince will discuss. The meeting adds an encounter with one of the Principality’s heads of state to a visit that also includes talks with the Andorran Government.
The visit comes at a time of what Spain’s Foreign Ministry describes as “excellent” bilateral relations, and as Andorra pursues closer ties with the European Union, a process Spain supports.
Meetings with Espot and Tor
During the visit, Albares will also meet the Head of Government, Xavier Espot, and hold talks with Foreign Minister Imma Tor, with whom he is scheduled to sign several bilateral agreements. The statement does not detail their contents.
The agenda will conclude with a gathering at the historic headquarters of Ràdio Andorra, where the Spanish minister will join officials, civil society representatives and business stakeholders.
The ministry also highlights Andorra’s active participation in preparations for the Ibero-American Summit in Madrid, another area of cooperation providing the backdrop to the visit.
