Man arrested on suspicion of fatally stabbing his partner in Andorra

Police have arrested a 34-year-old man on suspicion of a crime against human life after his 51-year-old partner died. The man went to a police station and said he had stabbed her.

The woman’s body was found on the Comella road. The road was closed while police and emergency services worked at the scene and judicial officials carried out their investigation.

Police had launched a search

The search began around midday after a call reported a woman with a bleeding wound. Police launched an operation to find both the man and his partner.

Officers from the Citizen Security Unit, the Technical Intervention Unit and the Air Support Section took part, with help from the Fire Brigade and the Banders, Andorra’s rural wardens. One possibility under consideration was that the victim had fallen down an embankment.

Investigation continues under judicial supervision

The Judicial Police and Criminal Investigation Department is gathering and analysing evidence to establish the circumstances of the woman’s death. The investigation is under judicial supervision.
