Ten new officers to strengthen police presence at Pas de la Casa and the borders
The officers will join the force after completing their training and a one-year probation period
The Police have formally appointed ten officers—one from the 58th training cohort and nine from the 59th—at a ceremony held on Tuesday at the Obac administrative building.
The officers received their badges and diplomas after completing their initial training and a one-year probation period.

The ceremony was attended by Head of Government Xavier Espot, Minister of Justice and Interior Ester Molné, Police Director Bruno Lasne and other officials.
Police plan to strengthen presence at Pas de la Casa
In his speech, Lasne urged the new officers to maintain the sense of purpose and commitment they had shown during training.

Espot said their oath marked the beginning of a commitment to Andorra, its institutions and the people who live in or visit the country.
The Police Corps currently has 265 officers. A further 20 trainees, who are completing a training course lasting up to nine months, are expected to join before the end of the year.

Their arrival will allow the force to create a dedicated unit for Pas de la Casa as part of a crackdown on tobacco smuggling. The unit will also be able to reinforce border operations when needed.
The Police Director also announced that new recruitment positions will be opened during the first half of next year, with the aim of bringing the force to 300 officers.
