Fourteen fire crews continue tackling the blaze at La Querola in Ordino
The fire has burned through approximately 10,000 square metres of residential space and 12,000 square metres of parking facilities
A fire extensively damaged all seven blocks of the La Querola development in Ordino overnight, a complex of 52 homes still under construction.
There have been no casualties, and the blaze is now under control, although 34 firefighters and fourteen fire crews remain at the scene to extinguish it and protect the surrounding forest.
Emergency services received the first alert at 1.45 a.m., when flames were affecting one of the buildings, prompting the deployment of crews from La Massana fire station.

The fire spread rapidly throughout the residential complex, which occupies a 6,900-square-metre plot with a perimeter of 350 metres.
The burned area covers approximately 10,000 square metres of residential space and 12,000 square metres of parking facilities.
Support from firefighters in La Seu d’Urgell
Of the fourteen crews deployed, two are from the Catalan Fire and Rescue Service’s station in La Seu d’Urgell, working alongside their Andorran counterparts.
The operation has also required changes to fire station coverage. Firefighters from Pas de la Casa have relocated to Canillo fire station, whose crews are working at La Querola, to respond to any emergencies in the Orient Valley.
Although the fire is under control, crews remain deployed, with protecting the forest a priority as they continue extinguishing the blaze.
Around twenty police officers and a drone support the operation
Around twenty officers from the police’s Public Security and Investigation units have also been mobilised to support firefighters. Personnel from the aerial support section have brought the police drone to the complex.
Teams from Nord Andorrà, Ordino’s traffic service, Civil Protection, the Red Cross and the Emergency Medical Service (SUM) are also working at the scene as part of the emergency response.
